With the most recent wave of snow from the Griz, winter has officially arrived in Fernie and we thought we would share three of our favourite ways to play in the snow in Fernie.
Outdoor Skating in Fernie
Skating outdoors in the winter is a magical experience and Fernie offers two great locations to go for a skate. Head to the Fernie Court House to skate on the outdoor skating rink or to the Fernie Aquatic Centre where a new professional-quality outdoor ice rink is scheduled to open on December 21st.
Hit the Slopes at Fernie Alpine Resort
Fernie Alpine Resort has it all, with 142 runs and 2,504 acres of terrain spread over 5 spectacular open bowls, ridges and glades, there is endless adventure on the mountain. Serviced by 10 lifts, the varied terrain creates a true mountain playground that appeals to skiers & riders of all ages and abilities. There are multiple locations including Fernie Alpine Resort, Island Lake Lodge, and the vast hiking and mountain bike trail network surrounding Fernie.
