Fernie is home to one of the most beautiful libraries in British Columbia and is a wonderful place to pop into while visiting historic downtown Fernie. One of the highlights of the Fernie Heritage Library’s programming schedule is their Booked Writers Series, which features an entertaining mix of authors and literary figures from across Canada.

Michael Helm is a distinguished author with many great pieces of work under his belt.
His books have received many praises from reputable sources, and two of his books have been finalists for The Giller Prize. In the Place of Lost Things, was a finalist for the Rogers Writer’s Trust Fiction Prize, as well as a Regional Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for Best Book.
