With hockey season in full swing, we thought it was the perfect time to highlight one of our classic Pub meals, the Beef Dip Sandwich. Featuring AAA Alberta Beef, served on a crispy ciabatta bun with our own aus jus gravy, this is the perfect pre-game meal before a big hockey game! Speaking of hockey, the Beef Dip is our showcased menu item for every Fernie Ghostrider Home Hockey Game this season. During winter, Fernie is full of dark cloudy days (which is great if you want a lot of snow to fall) and with this in mind we wanted to feature a few of our favourite dark and cloudy beers:
Tall Timber Ale – Brown Ale – Mt Begbie 5.2% ABV / 20 IBU
2019 & 2018 Siver Medal Canada World Beer Awards! Tall Timber Ale is a dark, full-bodied English Brown Ale alive with rich malt flavour, caramel undertones and a slight residual sweetness. The use of Goldings finishing hops and an authentic top cropping ale yeast round out the traditional Brown Ale character. Gold Medal winner Canadian Brewing Awards. Silver medal BC Brewing Awards 2016
Java the Hut- Coffee Milk Stout- Fernie Brewing Company 5% ABV / 40 IBU
The popular and local Crowsnest Coffee Roasters, supplies our blend of coffee beans for this popular FBC brew. They are added to the mash, along with a decadent amount of Chocolate, Black and Roasted Malts. Add a touch of lactose powder, and you get a stout with amazing flavours and dreamy smoothness.
Both of these dark beers pair perfectly with our Beef Dip sandwich and are also great for enjoying after a Ghostrider Hockey win!
