Season’s greetings from the team here at the Park Place Lodge.
Christmas is a wonderful time full of sharing and giving back to friends, family and community. Thank you to all who attended our Santa Claus Breakfast and helped support such worthwhile causes here in Fernie.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s Santa Breakfast in Max Restaurant on December 7th was one of our most successful. We had a record number of attendees and everyone said that it was a marvelous event. Best of all there were so many happy faces, pleased parents and children ecstatic that they were seeing Santa. All of our team members involved were thrilled to be able to be a part of such a wonderful day for such good causes.
The hotel hosted 180 guests this year and each of these guests contributed $3 equaling $540. Additionally the Park Place Lodge matched each guest contribution with a further donation of $3 per guest for a further $540. We are also delighted to be able to say that the staff working the event volunteered to donate $320 of their tips and this generosity was matched by Kyle Hamilton the Santa photographer who gave his fees for the event also amounting to $320 to our two chosen causes this year.
Because of all this holiday generosity we are able to report that a grand total of $1,720 was raised towards the Fernie Women’s Resource Centre and Fernie Friends for Friendseach of whom will receive cheques totalling $860.
